Have you ever witnessed the Holy Spirit’s ability to clearly control the moment as God’s will is brought to the forefront and have you ever witnessed the Father’s desire to reveal His glory through trust and faith in Him? Oh, God is so real, yes He is. But……………..
We are not robotic creations and our free wills to chose and decide can be muddled up by the work of the devil in the world and his deception to the flesh. What can quickly turn into many wasted years for a human is only a second of time to God and as always, it is God’s children that suffer the loss of fellowship and comfort with the Father.
Sometimes there is blindness, stubbornness, false feelings, self-pity, and a host of other human vices both reflecting the carnal nature and the demonic influence surrounding us. When there is fellowship with the world and not God all hell is camped out on our doorstep and if given time, a new world of false comfort, troubles, material desires, altered Christian views and liberal acceptance of social and worldly practices will overcome us.
It is a terrible thing to be trapped in the world as a Christian and away from the comfort of the Father because there is not another miraculous born again event to rescue us and change us in a split second.
2Peter2:20, For if after they have escaped the pollutions of the world through the knowledge of the Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, they are again entangled therein, and overcome, the latter end is worse with them than the beginning.
Instead of joy in the Lord there is a floundering in the spirit and wrestling with the forces of evil and the sins of the flesh. Why is that, is it because of falling for the lies and deceit of the wicked one or is there a hellish displacement of the Holy Father for he that is known as the world’s father, the devil?
This is no insinuation that Salvation is lost; it is the recognition that God’s child has left the fold and wandered into the domain of the devil. In Luke 15:11-32 there is the parable of the son who took all that he had, squandered it away, got in such bad shape that he ended up with the pigs and was ready to settle for eating the pig slop, but then he remembered what he had given up.
And it is the same for God’s children except God is the One in his mercy and grace that brings us into remembrance of our spiritual birth into a Heavenly world and what we have given up for pig slop. Oh! to catch sight again of that spiritual birth is to almost be reborn again. Our hearts break, our eyes water, and the grasp of the devil is broken as we come to rest again in the bosom of our Savior.
The running can stop. Do what you must do dear Father, but I want to be near You, even if it cost me everything I have stored up in this world, even if I must be chastised for my mistakes and rebellion. Repentance and confession is better than excuses and blame. This is what it is to serve the true God. To always know that His grace, His mercy, and His love is but a knee away.
So, there are many who end up with the pigs and then have to come to the place where the Holy Spirit can get through to us once again. This place I am talking about is when you are no longer able to accept the stench of the pigs and you see that it has always been just a pig’s world covered up with deceit and lies.
At this place, you already have the guilt of sin weighing on you from the Holy Spirit. You are seeing the blood of Christ covering up your sins because you are now in a spirit of repentance and you are crying out to God for forgiveness of rebellion, idol worship, doubt, and every other sin that is associated with living in the world and denying Christ.
We think to generalize sin into that which we can see or that which is apparent, forgetting that the very nature of the human race is in rebellion against the Holiness of God. The natural man is good at sin and the more we feed the flesh, the more we are inclined to sin even if it is something as simple as putting our desires first before the will of God.
But thank God, once repentance and seeking of forgiveness begins, the demons of hell start to back away and deception, sins, guilt, strife, doubt, etc…, start to fall away and when God accepts our sincerity and bestows His grace upon us again, then we are at the place we need to be. We are back on the right road, amen!
