This could be a statement made about America. After all, we know the sins of this Nation are not hidden and are in fact flaunted before God. Just look at the elected and hired people representing the people of America. From the Top Political Office down to the Local City Major’s office, an unholy humanistic attitude of self righteousness and self sufficiency exists. It is not uncommon to see and watch our public officials express the following actions; not listening to the public, overtaxing, misuse of monies, and uncontrollable dishonesty. The confusing part of this, it is accepted as the norm in public servitude.

Is this just a reflection of society, it would appear that way:

In the following article by the Arab News they seem to imply that TV is linked to being a reflection of society,

TV as a Reflection of Society     Rasheed Abou-Alsamh, Arab News —
JEDDAH, 27 July 2007 — WHAT appears on television in most countries is a useful reflection of what topics are on the mind of the people and what is considered socially acceptable….

In this following article, the writer quotes Mr. Clabaugh on the public schools as a reflection of society

Are Public Schools a Reflection of Society?

September 30, 9:34 AM    NY Education Examiner      Lorri Giovinco-Hartehttp://www.examiner.com/x-903-New-York-City-Education-Examiner~y2008m9d30-Are-Public-Schools-a-Reflection-of-Society

Gary K. Clabaugh, Ed.D  -The thing about mirrors is they reflect reality with remorseless accuracy. Do we exercise and watch what we eat? There it is in the mirror, flat belly, taut muscles, and all. But if we sit on our duff and gobble Twinkies, the less flattering consequences are also reflected with implacable exactitude. America’s public schools provide a similarly accurate mirror image of our nation. Like it or not, what’s wrong with them is, for the most part, wrong with us. And what is right about America is generally right about our schools, too.

Public schools didn’t used to provide this accurate an image if our nation. In the so-called ‘ good old days,’ most of the kids from the ‘wrong side of the tracks’ dropped out of school long before graduation. Consequently, public schools provided a relatively flattering reflection of America. Today, however, children from this “other America” tend to stay in school. As a consequence, public schools now accurately more reflect America’s failings as well as its successes”.

In the Bible, Jesus teaches us that it is not what we put in our mouth that defiles us; it is that which comes from our mouth. It is that which comes out of the heart of man that reflects the condition of man. This points us toward the purpose of the cross and the cleansing that takes place when we look to the cross and find the Savior, Jesus Christ.

Mar 7:18-23,  And he saith unto them, Are ye so without understanding also? Do ye not perceive, that whatsoever thing from without entereth into the man, it cannot defile him;  Because it entereth not into his heart, but into the belly, and goeth out into the draught, purging all meats?  And he said, That which cometh out of the man, that defileth the man.  For from within, out of the heart of men, proceed evil thoughts, adulteries, fornications, murders,  Thefts, covetousness, wickedness, deceit, lasciviousness, an evil eye, blasphemy, pride, foolishness:  All these evil things come from within, and defile the man.

But this article is not for the American, it is for the Christian. We are not ready to meet God under His requirements. Requirements that are necessary to bring about a Christian cultural persuasion for a rebirth of Christian influence on America.

How did Christians get in this position?

Why are Christians not ready:

  • When did this start
  • Where did this start
  • Why did it happen

Why will Christians not do what is needed to get ready:

  • Knowing but not understanding
  • Seeing but without clarity
  • Listening but hearing who

Why is the future now for the Christian:

  • Are the storms coming
  • Is the Truth getting too hard to discern
  • Which prophecy will happen today

Without representation of Christ before the people, a Christian is just another religious figure. But what is true representation. Is it the act of going to church? Is it the act of giving to the poor? Is it the act of living a good life? Is it showing up for Bible studies or meetings? Can the unbeliever do any of the above, yes of course?

It is that which cannot be done by the unbeliever, this is when true representation of Christ is portrayed by Christians. What is the true representation?
